EOI - CSIRO (AUS) - Large-memory Computer System

CSIRO ASC wishes to replace its SGI Altix 4700 large-memory (512 Gbyte) system with a system using x86 (ia32) compatible processors with 64-bit extension. This will provide processor and software compatibility with nearly all the other systems accessible by CSIRO users, but will uniquely provide a large-memory capability. The system will be used for data-intensive computing, and general shared-memory and other parallel computing. It will interface to existing storage systems. At least double the capability of the Altix is desirable.

RFP - LotteryWest (WA) - Provision of 48GB of RAM for p560q model 9116-561 computers

Lotterywest hosts it SAP/ERP environment on 21 logical partitions (LPARS) on two IBM p560q servers running AIX, that are located in separate data centres at the Head Office site in Osborne Park (HBP) and at Heytesbury House (HH) in Subiaco. The production p560q at HBP has 112GB of RAM installed; the server at HH has 96GB. It has been identified that the allocation of memory to individual SAP modules is significantly less than recommended for optimum performance. In order to increase memory allocation, each p560q will be configured with 128GB of RAM, the maximum possible.
