RFT - Department of Premier and Cabinet (TAS) - Upgrade of connect email service infrastructure from Exchange 2007 to Exchange 2010

The Tasmanian Government (Government) represented by TMD, (a division of the Department of Premier and Cabinet) is seeking to enter into arrangements with a suitably qualified and experienced Contractor to lead the upgrade of the Connect Email Service infrastructure from Exchange 2007 to Exchange 2010, with the final infrastructure serving approximately 40,000 mailboxes.


TMD commissioned a high-level design from Microsoft Consultancy Services (Architecture and Design for Microsoft Exchange Server 2010), which details TMD’s current technical environment as well as the end-state environment that TMD is seeking assistance to develop and implement.

The Royal Hobart Hospital is seeking to implement an Auto Arrival System for use in Specialist Clinics. The Specialist Clinic is currently located within the RHH campus but will move to The Wellington Centre in Argyle Street around mid 2012. It is intended to introduce the Auto Arrival System in Specialist Clinics at this time.

The Auto Arrival System is intended to:

• Ease queuing problems

• Help patients find their way around the clinic area

• Reduce demand on reception services

• Improve the patient experience

• Support improved utilisation reporting

• Integrate with the patient administration system

RFT - Department of Premier and Cabinet (TAS) - Voice Services - Public Network Access and Carriage

The purpose of this Request for Tender (RFT) is for the Government to secure arrangements for the supply of public network access and carriage services from 27 March 2012, when existing arrangements expire.


To achieve this objective, the Government is seeking to appoint one or more suppliers to deliver these services via POTS, ISDN and IP-based technologies. Because the Government is willing to contract with more than one supplier for these services, Tenderers are not required to offer all of the access technologies listed.

This scanning project is part of the Information and Land Services Division  Archive and Storage Strategy Project. The project has been identified for completion within the Office of theValuer General and requires the conversion of approximately 270,000 valuation files held in 2,808 B5 size folders consisting of single and double sided pages in various colours, condition and formats many of which are fragile, aged, in poor condition and low legibility into indexed digital PDF images.
