RFP - RailCorp NSW - Procurement of Wayside Information Management System
Rail Corporation New South Wales (“RailCorp”) is a New South Wales Government Agency constituted under the Transport Administration Act 1988 (NSW), with responsibility for the provision of passenger rail services within New South Wales. Communications and Control Systems (“C&CS”) Division is part of RailCorp’s Asset Management Group and is responsible for the specification, design, provision and future strategy of train control systems, communication networks, voice communication, automatic train protection, train radio communication systems and wayside systems. C&CS is the group responsible for the wayside systems network and which is issuing this Request for Proposal.
Currently, RailCorp has a number of wayside systems within the network that records various wayside parameters on various wayside system platforms such as weighbridges, Acoustic Bearing Monitors, Hotbox Detectors and Wheel Condition Monitoring Systems.
The objectives of this project are as follows:
a) Provision of the various deliverables (including hardware, software and services) to deliver the requisite functionality in a new Wayside Information Systems network in order for RailCorp to meet its commercial obligations;
b) Provision of a Wayside Information System based on tried and proven technologies;
c) Ability for the system to perform consistently as required throughout its service life;
d) Provision of support services including corrective maintenance, preventative maintenance, supply of spares & equipment, general system support and the supply of training services for the duration of its service life;
e) Provide RailCorp with the ability to provide an aggregated view of all wayside systems data;
f) Provide RailCorp with the ability to implement data analytics tools to analyse the collected data; and
g) Improve the efficiency of RailCorp management systems for processing alarms and alerts information to stakeholders and enhancing the productivity benefits of automation.

EOI - RailCorp NSW - Supply of IT Equipment for Train Station Passenger Information (SPI)
Expressions of Interest are invited from Manufacturers or authorised dealers of Manufactures, for the supply of IT equipment for Station Passenger Information projects within the CityRail Network.
RailCorp may require from time to time the supply and delivery of the following items for its Station Passenger Information projects:
- Switches and Network components
- Visual Display Units
- PCs (with network adaptor and video cards installed)
- Uninterrupted Power Supply units
- Keyboard Video Mouse units
- Windows Servers
- Equipment Racks
Note the following mandatory requirements:
- Applicant is the manufacturer OR an authorised dealer of the Manufacturer. If the Applicant is an authorised dealer documentary evidence of the relationship with Manufacturer is required to be provided.
- Manufacturer has a registered office in Australia.

RFT Closing 13 May 09 - NSW RailCorp - Reconciliation and Workflow Tool
RailCorp plans to provide an automated reconciliation facility for General Accounting and upstream processes. Reconciliations will include all Balance Sheet Accounts, (including multiple Bank Accounts), CityRail Receipts, CountryLink Receipts, Payments, Payroll Payments, Payroll Deductions, etc. The Reconciliation and Workflow Tool will be required to:
- automate RailCorp’s reconciliations from multiple sources;
- provide workflow capability allowing users to investigate variances; and
- prepare and approve reconciliations.
To progress the above initiative, a suitable commercial off the shelf (COTS) software package and support services are required to provide an automated reconciliation and workflow capability. RailCorp requires a robust reconciliation tool that has proven success within Australia’s financial business environment. To ensure continuity and lower potential risks to the project, RailCorp seeks a reconciliation and workflow tool that has demonstrable past and current product development, maintenance and support, as well as commitment to continuing development, maintenance and support within Australia.
