RFT - New Zealand Fire Service (NZ) - HR Recruitment Management Solution

NZFS has a 5 year People Strategy (2010-2015) and is in the process of developing an integrated HRIS Strategy to support these initiatives. In lieu of the completion of the HRIS Strategy the priority of a Recruitment Management System has been identified.
NZFS wishes to purchase a solution to improve the process of this key HR function with a view to implementing it ahead of the overall HRIS solution and integration into the wider HRIS solution architecture.

The NZFS wants to automate our recruitment processes from end to end, including managing prospective candidates, the application and screening process, assessments, candidate notifications, process tracking and reference checking as well as reporting.

ROI - New Zealand Fire Service (NZ) - Fire Weather System

The NZFS is looking for registrations of interest for the provision of the Fire Weather System (FWSYS).

Under Section 14A (2) f of the Fire Service Act 1975, the Commission as the NRFA is required to co-ordinate the operation of a national rural fire weather index, and to co-ordinate a national and regional system of rural fire hazard prediction and warnings.

In terms of high level requirements, the business requires a solution that;

(i) replaces the existing system in terms of functionality
(ii) provides enhanced fire weather forecasting capability and
(iii) provides an integrated ‘one-stop-shop’ view of fire weather information in a timely manner.

ROI - New Zealand Fire Service (NZ) - Recruitment Assessment Tool

The New Zealand Fire Service (NZFS) is interested in considering an off-the-shelf recruitment assessment tool, online preferably, that will effectively screen our recruit candidates at the application stage. The aim is to use this process to shortlist candidates that would move on to our current selection tests.

The tool would need to be able to link with the current recruitment website, manage bulk assessments (500+), and will need to identify specific skills and behavioural attributes identified by the NZFS as relevant to the fire fighter role. Ranking and detailed reporting will be required.

The application and its results will need to have the ability to integrate with any RMS system the NZFS may employ in the future.

It should be noted that this project is very much at the inception stage, and the information gained from this ROI will be used to determine whether a business case will be raised and the project moved forward.
