RFT - Airservices Australia (AUS) - Safety Data Management Systems (SDMS)

The Safety Management Group of Airservices are progressing a program of continual improvement of internal processes. To that end a project has been established to introduce a single application, named the Safety Data Management System (SDMS), to replace a number of similar incident/issue improvement management, tracking and reporting systems.

Currently, Airservices has disparate software applications and processes that partially meet its needs for managing and recording the safety data. The applications are obsolete and not fully supported. As a result of a market scan conducted to investigate the availability of suitable products, a decision has been made to release a Request for Tender (RFT) for a solution to meet identified business requirements.While a bespoke SDMS solution is not discounted, Airservices preference is for a commercially available off the shelf system (COTS) rather than the development of a solution from scratch either through in-house or contracted development. Market research has identified this as being a viable option.The SDMS solution once available will be a single country-wide, centrally managed repository of safety data and a set of reporting and analysis tools that will allow the efficient transformation of data into information and information into knowledge.
