MAF is implementing a panel arrangement designed to provide MAF with on demand access to IT technical services.
1) Provision of IT Resources;
2) Technical resources including but not limited to:
- Technical Programme Manager and Technical Project Manager,
- Systems / Technical Business Analysts
- Architects,
- IT Security Specialists, and
- IT Network Specialists
- other levels of experience may be required in some instances (eg: Junior appointments with a mentor, but these roles could be low demand)
3) Subject matter experts in IT.

MAF is intending to purchase and contract for a system which enables hold stow baggage on trans-Tasman flights bound for New Zealand to be assessed for biosecurity risk goods while flights are en route from Australia.
The X-ray Transfer Facility will involve the transfer of raw x-ray images and Baggage Source Message (BSM) data from Australia to New Zealand.
The X-ray Transfer Facility is one of a number initiatives designed to reduce the intervention of trans-Tasman passengers on arrival into New Zealand and streamline trans-Tasman travel.
