ROI - New Zealand Transport Agency (NZ) - National Integrated Ticketing - Central System Hosting

In December 2009, Auckland Regional Transport Authority (ARTA) signed a contract with Thales (a French company) for the supply of the Auckland Integrated Fares System (AIFS) for use in the Auckland Public Transport system. In addition to the normal regional project funding arrangement, the NZTA provided additional funding for the Central System (CS) component of the AIFS system, which provides the back office support functionalities.

The NZTA intends to maximise reuse of the CS facility by leveraging the infrastructure and technology to support public transport fare collection and related payment systems, in other New Zealand regions

From this ROI the NZTA seeks supplier who can provide a solution for hosting and management of a Central System for the AIFS implementation by early 2011.

The NZTA is also looking for a supplier to support any future regional implementations to extend the CS system, as part of NZTA’s National Integrated Ticketing (NIT) Programme
