Queensland Health is seeking to establish an SOA for the supply and delivery of library journals (both print and electronic) and electronic books, provided either to individual Queensland Health Libraries or to the Clinicians Knowledge Network (CKN). The Clinicians Knowledge Network is a Queensland Health web site that provides state-wide access to licensed electronic clinical knowledge resources. ļ¾ Discipline areas concerned are primarily medical science, health science and related management.
It is anticipated that this SOA will result in resources being procured in a cost effective manner, to agreed standards and service levels that meet the business needs of Queensland Health, and its accountability obligations.
The following objectives have been identified:
- Resources will be licensed to best satisfy individual QH libraries, multi-site requirements of QH Libraries or state-wide requirements in the most cost-effective manner;
- Wherever possible, state-wide licensing of resources is preferred with print obtained only where an electronic option is unavailable, significantly more expensive, or where Queensland Health wishes to have Departmental copies and /or print copies;
- Information resources need to be accessible via both the QH Intranet and the CKN reverse proxy server.
The standing offer arrangement will be for the whole of Queensland Health, including services provided through the Clinicians Knowledge Network (CKN).
Closing date: 4 Sept 09 2:00pm QLD local time
